Post your suggestions in this thread please!

Any suggestions for scenes or different parts of the movie including music, and cinematography are welcome! We need descriptive thoughts and scenes. Help us out!!

Do you have at least the characters planned out? Also, even a vague sketch of a plot could help. You should do this before you ask for suggestions. just my 2 cents.

Haha, I'm working on the storyline right now.
But I'm also busy trying to find a better camera.
So for the next 2 weeks or so, I will be preparing.
I believe it may snow soon, so I want to try and get in some scenes with that.

I agree with this, once you give us a little outline of the characters and of the storyline you'd like it'd be much easier to come up with some ideas.

Basically, the main character begins to see and experience weird things. So he begins doing research and trying to found out what is going on. The more he researches, the more he mentally breaks down, realizing that slenderman could very well be stalking him.
He tries to document some of the weird things he is finding and some of the stuff that is happening.
So it's a battle of self struggle and fear.

But, I also want to put in some stuff involving police investigation and missing people.

Some music suggestions. I know these are far from the best ideas for music for this movie but at least they're something. You can tell me what you like and don't like about them and I'll see what I can do to find more.

Not really sure how you could fit those in, but you could give them a try if you like them.

Another idea, maybe you could have a scene that's from Slenderman's point of view where he's kind of just watching the main character from another room or something. Like one of those scenes in the horror movies where you just want to scream "OMFG TURN AROUND YOU DUMBASS HE'S RIGHT THERE WTF R U DOIN"

Yeah! Those kind of scenes always left me with an eerie feeling like something might be looking at me from behind but also was a source of comic relief because of how much I wanted to scream at them for being so stupid, lol.

For music, Boards of Canada has some creepy shit, as does Add (N) to X. Silence is also a powerful weapon. With no music, the audience is forced to rely on what they see, and then ohshit! moments are that much more profound. It also suspends their disbelief because even subconsciously they're not thinking "oh they picked good music for this scene, in a movie that I am watching from the safety of the theater/couch"

Agreed, I've always thought that too much music can totally ruin a music. I just want some ambient stuff for the parts that need it. And then different stuff that plays in the background at points.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor was in 28 Days Later, so it's recognizable if you use that track, but they have a lot of minimalist sort of songs.

I think the most important thing is creating atmosphere, so film only on cloudy days, put some kind of filter through the video, and focus on your main character trying to find out what the fuck is going on. Maybe some montage of him in a car and this wonderful fucking awesome theme playing :

When I used to write scripts for my horror movies, I'd always listen to this.
Try not to use many clichés by the way...

Maybe one of the characters, when searching for stuff online, should watch a video similar to this one


It is actually quite creepy, and you could say somebody who saw Slenderman went insane and made it.

It's not really that special, just a loop of Mickey walking in a city while some piano music plays. Then the music stops and you heard a lot of screams. You should give it a try.
